computers & printing

Each library is equipped with a complement of public computer workstations with high-speed Internet access to facilitate searching our online catalogue, website, legal databases and the Internet.

Clients may also use our public computers to access e-mail. One computer at both the Calgary and Edmonton libraries includes the full MS Office suite. All computers are networked to at least one black/white printer. Printing is $0.25 per page.

Our public computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The number and distribution, per library, depends on the individual library's size and space available. In total, there are over 40 computers openly accessible across the library system.

All computers are configured with workstation images, to ensure a consistent standard across the library system, and are at a Pentium4 level with a minimum of 3.2B GHz processor and 1GB RAM. All are equipped with CD-RW / DVD-ROM drives as well as USB ports on the front of the computer to accommodate USB flash drives.

Prior to accessing our public computer workstations, clients should review our Computer & Internet Use Policy.
