document delivery
As a service to registered clients, we offer a comprehensive document delivery service. Document delivery refers to the request and delivery of materials, regardless of format or whether our libraries own the materials, and includes photocopying and interlibrary loans.
Under our Access to the Law Policy, we will locate, borrow or photocopy, and deliver case reports, legislation, journal articles, historical documents, conference proceedings or other legal information.
How to Request
Please complete the Document Request Form. The completed form may be e-mailed or printed and faxed to your preferred library.Note: Adobe Reader 9 or later is required to access the form. Service Levels
Regular Service Delivered Next Business Day (available Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)*
2 Hour Priority Service (service available for requests received by 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays; additional $5.00 rush fee applies)
*Please note that large orders (over 100 pages of clean copying) may require a longer turn around time. We will contact you if the time to complete your request may exceed one business day.
Service Fees
$0.50 per page$5.00 service fee per order (one order may include up to 5 documents)
Delivery Options
We can deliver your documents by Canada Post or facsimile or you may arrange to have them picked up by courier or in person. Delivery by e-mail in PDF is available for some documents. There is no additional charge for delivery by Canada Post, facsimile or e-mail. Clients are responsible for the arrangement and payment of courier deliveries.Payment Options
An invoice will be sent with each filled order. Costs will be charged against your library or deposit account and invoiced at the end of each month. Payment on your account may be made by cheque payable to the Law Society of Alberta or by cash.
