To assist clients to optimise the use of our legal information resources and services, we offer library tours, library skills instruction and legal research consultations.
Library Tours
30-minute sessions to introduce clients to the general layout of the library and the resources and services the library has to offer. Tours are available to individuals or groups.Library Skills Instruction
60-minute sessions to demonstrate how to find, manage and research legal information efficiently and effectively, including effective use of the libraries’ online catalogue.Research Consultations
60-minute customised sessions to provide specialised legal research assistance on a particular legal topic. During research consultations, we can assist in identifying and selecting appropriate resources, demonstrate advanced search strategies, help identify and locate primary sources, provide assistance in using online databases and other relevant and reliable information, assist in gaining access to material held by other libraries, and develop a bibliography. This service is available to registered clients only.
Training may be requested by visiting or telephoning one of our libraries or by completing Request Training form online. Upon receiving your request, we will attempt to contact you within approximately 24 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) to set up a mutually convenient day and time.
